This organization was founded in 1967 to provide Women’s Coaches a voice in policy-making for Women’s Track & Field in the United States.  In recent years, USWTCA has been a driving force in affecting changes and encouraging support and growth of Women’s Track & Field in the United States.  The underlying purpose of the association is to be a voice for the body of coaches who coach women (club, junior and senior, junior college, collegiate) and those individuals who are interested in the United States being the best Women’s Track & Field program in the world.  USWTCA falls under the umbrella of the USATF Coaching Advisory Committee.
